Identification
21 cm (8¼ in)
- Yellowish-green upperparts
- Blackish-brown remiges and rectrices
- Greyish-white underparts with light brown streaking
- Whitish undertail-coverts with dark barring
Sexes similar
Juvenile lacks the underparts streaking
Distribution
Endemic to the mountains of northern, central and eastern Borneo.
Taxonomy
It was formerly included in Streaky-breasted Spiderhunter.
Subspecies
This is a monotypic species[1]. The taxon pars which formerly were considered a subspecies of Grey-breasted Spiderhunter is currently considered a synonym of the nominate form of this species.
Habitat
Dipterocarp hill forests and lower level montane forests and forest edges. Mostly found between 900–1600 m, sometimes lower.
Behaviour
Diet
It is presumed their diet consists mostly of small arthropods and nectar.
