Identification

Distribution

Asia: found in Afghanistan, China, Inner Mongolia, Pakistan, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia

Taxonomy

There are 3 subspecies:

• A. c. haringtoni:

• Mountains of northern Afghanistan to north-western India (Kashmir) and Pakistan

• A. c. stevensi :

• Plains of Brahmaputra River (Assam) and adjacent Myanmar

• A. c. concinens:

• Northern and central China; winters to southern Myanmar and southern Thailand

Habitat

Grassland and wetland.
