Identification
40–44 cm (15¾-17¼ in)
- Green overall plumage
- Blue and white supercilium
- White throat
- Blue breast band
- Red rump
Distribution
South America: found in the Andes of eastern Peru (Huánuco) to southern Bolivia (Santa Cruz, Chuquisaca).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
A variety of montane subtropical moist forests, cloud forests with dense undergrowth.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet is not too well known. They eat fruits, insects and arthropods. They forage alone, in pairs and small groups.
