Identification

Male:
- Jet black
- A white patch on back (which is just visible)
- White wing bars, white patch on bend of wing and broad white tail tips.
Female:
- Grey with fine white streaking on throat and breast.
Distribution
South America: found in central Brazil (Bananal Island and right bank of River Javaés, Tocantins)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Moist lowland forests and moist shrubland near water in gallery woodland or riverside thickets.
Behaviour
It is usually found in pairs.
Diet
The diet includes invertebrates.
