Distribution
South America: found along the Andes in Ecuador into Peru, and spottily in Colombia; strongly suspected of crossing into Venezuela.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Humid mountain forest in Bamboo.
Behaviour
Diet
Feeds near ground level in bamboo canes. There is now information on their diet.
