20-22 cm, with 20cm long tail streamers


China, Manchuria and Japan; winters to Malaysia and Sumatra


This is a monotypic species.
Formerly included in Asian Paradise-Flycatcher together with Blyth's Paradise-Flycatcher and Indian Paradise-Flycatcher.


Thick forests and other well-wooded habitats.



It builds a cup nest in a tree and 3-4 eggs are laid.


The diet includes insects.
