Formerly lumped with the Northern Barred Woodcreeper under the name Barred Woodcreeper.

- Northern Bolivia (La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz)
- D. c. retentus:
- Eastern Amazonian Brazil, south of the Amazon, between the Xingu and Tocantins Rivers
Habitat
Humid lowland forests, including flooded forests and terra firma forests.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of insects and invertebrates such as ants, grasshoppers and cockroaches.
