Identification
12-15 cm
- Very streaky buff and black on upperparts
- Uniform buffy underparts
Distribution
Eastern Africa: endemic to Kenya. It is found around and close to the Rift valley near Molo and Mau Narok and in the Aberdares from which it derives its name at elevations above 6500 feet.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].

Highland grassland and moorland.

Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes insects.
Breeding
It nests on moorland, building a ball shaped nest of soft grass, lined with seedheads, with a side entrance. The nest is placed in grass tussocks.
