Went for a walk around Liverpool's Sefton Park lake and was surprised to see a wader in the drained, muddy lake, striding up and down next to what water still remains (I was walking along what would be the right hand bank going away from where the old pirate ship used to be).
I'm not the best at wader idents, but brown back, white breast, straight black back, black bit at bottom of tail seems to narrow it down to dunlin or knot. As it was on the smallish side I'd guess dunlin, but would be grateful if anyone could either corroborate it or correct me.
