Myrmoborus lophotes

Identification

Distribution

Northwest Bolivia, southeast Peru and nearest Brazil.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.
Formerly placed in genus Percnostola.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests, particularly in tall bamboo thickets.

Behaviour

The nest is a cup shaped structure made from bamboo leaves and twigs. Two off white eggs with burgundy splotches are laid and are incubated by both parents.
