Identification
Medium grey and olive-green, deep black and white flecks on wings, two yellow wing-bars and yellow edging to the flight feathers, short tail, short sharp stout black bill, narrow white eye-ring and grey iris.
Distribution
Brazil, Guianas of French Guiana, Suriname, and southeast Guyana, Amazonian Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:

- H. z. flaviviridis:
- North Peru (central Amazonas and northern San Martín)
Habitat
Moist lowland forests and dry shrubland.
Behaviour
Rather vocal, forages actively in under- and midstorey.
