Identification
8.9 cm. Straight, long, black bill 2 cm. Bright golden-green upperparts, bronze tail, white underparts, green, or white spotted with green, flanks, purple-black tipped tail. The sexes are similar.
Distribution
Trinidad and northern South America.
Taxonomy
This species has in the past been named Amazilia chionopectus, and it is sometimes placed in genus Agyrtria as Agyrtria brevirostris.

Three subspecies are recognized[1].

Habitat
Open woodland and cultivation.
Behaviour
Breeding
They build a small cup shaped nest from plant fibre which is placed on a horizontal tree branch.
Diet
The diet consists mostly of nectar and small insects.
