Description
Hummingbirds from South America and Central America.
Taxonomy
This genus (in family Trochilidae) is not recognized by all authorities, but Clements (2007)1 places the following species in Agyrtria: Rondonia Emerald, Versicolored Emerald, White-chested Emerald, White-bellied Emerald, Azure-crowned Hummingbird, Andean Emerald, Plain-bellied Emerald, Violet-crowned Hummingbird, and Green-fronted Hummingbird. In Opus we follow Sibley & Monroe (1996)1 and Dickinson (2003)2, placing these species in Amazilia which is also a genus in the family Trochilidae.
