Identification
8.9 cm. Straight, long, black bill 2 cm. Bright golden-green upperparts, bronze tail, white underparts, green, or white spotted with green, flanks, purple-black tipped tail. The sexes are similar.
Distribution
Trinidad and northern South America.
Taxonomy
This is a polytypic species[1] consisting of 3 subspecies.
This species has in the past been named Amazilia chionopectus, and it is sometimes placed in genus Agyrtria as Agyrtria brevirostris.

Habitat
Open woodland and cultivation.
