Identification

14-16cm. Triangular head, grey-olive upperparts, dark bill, olive breast, dark cap and slight crest, white throat, belly and undertail coverts. Sexes similar.

Distribution

Western North America.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Open wooded areas and orchards.

Behaviour

They build an open cup nest and 2-3 eggs are laid. Both parents feed the young.

The diet includes insects, spiders and berries.
