Padda fuscata

Identification

14 cm. Dark brown, large silvery-blue bill, white cheek, pink feet and creamy-white belly. Sexes are similar.

Distribution

Lesser Sunda Islands, west Timor, Semau and Rote Island of Indonesia, and Timor-Leste.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species. Some authorities place this species in genus Padda.

Habitat

Grasslands and lowlands.

Behaviour

The diet includes rice and seeds.
