Identification
Brown above barred with black, wings buff-spotted. Below, throat greyish-white, breast and flanks olivaceous brown, remainder of underparts bright rufous. Forecrown and sides of head bright chestnut.
Length 38cm.
Distribution
Andes from west Venezuela and Colombia to Ecuador and southern Peru. Resident.
Taxonomy
This species is monotypic[1]
Habitat
Open woodland.
