Sulawesi Fantail and Taliabu Fantail were formerly considered one species under the name of Rusty-bellied Fantail.


Two subspecies are recognized[1].

  • R. t. toradja
    • Mountains of north, central and southeast Sulawesi
  • R. t. teysmanni
    • Mt. Lompobatang (southwest Sulawesi)


Moist lowland forest and montanes.
