Sulawesi Fantail and Taliabu Fantail were formerly considered one species under the name of Rusty-bellied Fantail.
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized[1].
- R. t. toradja
- Mountains of north, central and southeast Sulawesi
- R. t. teysmanni
- Mt. Lompobatang (southwest Sulawesi)
Habitat
Moist lowland forest and montanes.
