Identification
Blue-grey, almost white on the forehead, cream-white throat and chest, glossy black tail and wings, brown iris and the eye is surrounded by a band of naked bright blue skin. Black bill, legs and feet.

Endemic to Ethiopia
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species which is the only member of the genus Zavattariornis.
Habitat
Acacia scrub.
Behaviour
Breeding starts in March. They build a globe shaped nest with a tubular top entrance high in an Acacia tree. 5-6 cream eggs with lilac blotches are laid.
The diet includes insects.
