Identification
Distribution
Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.
Taxonomy
Two subspecies recognized:
- H. m. dilutus in southeast Colombia, south Venezuela and northeast Peru
- H. m. macularius in eastern Venezuela, the Guianans and northeast Brazil
Alta Floresta Antpitta and Snethlage's Antpitta were formerly included in this species.
Habitat
Moist lowland forests.
