Identification

Distribution

South America: found in the Andes of Ecuador and Peru.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are two subspecies[1]:

  • S. r. celicae:
  • Andes of extreme south-western Ecuador (Loja)
  • S. r. ruficollis;
  • Andes of north-western Peru (Piura, Cajamarca and Lambayeque)

Habitat

Dry or moist forests and moist montanes.
