South America: found in the Andes of Ecuador and Peru.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are two subspecies[1]:
- S. r. celicae:
- Andes of extreme south-western Ecuador (Loja)
- S. r. ruficollis;
- Andes of north-western Peru (Piura, Cajamarca and Lambayeque)
Habitat
Dry or moist forests and moist montanes.
