Alternative name: Rufous-collared Thrush.
- Turdus rufitorques
Identification
All plumages: Undertail coverts with white streaks. Bill and legs are yellow.
Adult male: black on head, lower belly, tail, wings, back and mantle; rufous on breast and in a broad ring around the neck.
Adult female: black of male replaced with greyish-brown, the rufous likewise less bright.
Immature: can be quite dark with only a shadow of the collar.
Distribution
El Salvador and Guatemala to Mexico south of Isthmus, and possibly Honduras.

Behaviour
Sings from an exposed perch.
