Identification
29-32 cm. Purple-glossed black plumage, orange-yellow patches of naked skin around each eye, yellow lower belly, white wing patches, white rump and undertail, yellow bill.
Distribution
Bismarck Archipelago and Solomon Islands.

Open lowland forests and plantations.
Behaviour
It nests in tree holes. Eggs are pale blue with red or grey markings.
Diet includes fruit.
