Alternative name: Spot-winged Greenbul

Identification
16 cm. A small greenbul with a yellow throat.
- Palish olivegreen lores and ear-coverts with some yellowish streaks
- Inconspicuous yellowish eyering
- Dull olive-green top of head and upperparts
- Dull rufous uppertail-coverts and tail
- Dull olive-brown wings
- White spots on wing forming a wing-bar, more spots on greater and median primary coverts and alula
- Sulphur-yellow throat and underparts, olive wash on breast and flanks
Sexes probably similar, juvenile undescribed.
Similar species
Very similar to Icterine Greenbul, only difference are the spots on the wings.
Distribution
Endemic to two small forest patches in eastern Liberia.
A little known, critically endangered restricted-range species. Habitat is unprotected and logging in the area continues.

This is a monotypic species.
A new study shows that this species is only a plumage variant of Icterine Greenbul. IOC no longer accepts Liberian Greenbul as full species.

Behaviour
Usually seen singly or in pairs, also in mixed-species flocks.
Diet
Not well known. Forages mainly between 4 and 8 m, often in branches close to the trunk.
