Lophophorus impejanus

Identification

70 cm in length, the weight of males and females range between 1980-2380g and 1800-2150g respectively. Males has long crest and is multicoloured; females are dull and brown-black, with white patch in the foreneck and white stripe on the tail.

Distribution

Eastern Afghanistan, Northern Pakistan, India, Nepal, sw China, southern Tibet, Bhutan, and ne Myanmar.

Taxonomy

A monotypic species.

Oak-conifer forests
