Gray Flycatcher - BirdForum Opus

Identification

The Gray Flycatcher is identified by its pale lower mandible with a dark tip, short primary projection, white outer edges on tail, and a tendency to drop tail down.

Distribution

Intermountain west of the United States and Canada. Winters western Mexico.

Taxonomy

Kingdom: Animalia -> Phylum: Chordata -> Class: Aves -> Order: Passeriformes -> Family: Tyrannidae -> Genus: Empidonax -> Species: E. wrightii

Habitat

It is found in brushy areas in arid sagebrush habitat.
