Western Africa: Senegambia, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola
Eastern Africa: Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1] which is sometimes placed in the genus Pachyphantes.
Habitat
Tall grassland, which is seasonally wet or flooded lowland. Also areas with scattered thickets or bushes.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of seeds and arthropods. They possibly also eat some fruit when available.
