Distribution
Asia: western China (breeding endemic (southern Gansu to Shaanxi, Hubei, Sichuan and north-western Yunnan)), Tibet and Inner Mongolia
Southeast Asia: Indochina, and Vietnam
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
It was formerly placed in genus Turdus.
Habitat
Forests and moist montanes.
