Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, China, Russia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, and Vietnam.

Taxonomy

Monptypic.

Habitat

Willow, poplar and alder forests, wintering in deciduous and evergreen forests above 1000m.
