Genus: Psophodes
Description
Whipbirds and Wedgebills from Australia.
They share a crest, have similar bill morphology, tail patterning and eggs and nests.
Taxonomy
Psophodes is a genus in the family Psophodidae.
These four species were in the past also placed in the Babblers or in the Whistlers and formerly in the family Eupetidae.
There is also the suggestion that this genus should be included in the proposed family Falcunculidae.
