Description
Petronias range from Africa to Asia and southern Europe.
All species share an inconspicious yellow-throat spot.
Taxonomy
Petronia is a genus in the family Passeridae.
Some authorities only place Rock Sparrow in this genus and place the other species in Gymnoris.
