Description
Gill and Donsker placed the following species in this genus, placed in genera Dryobates, Veniliornis or Picoides by other authorities:
- Red-cockaded Woodpecker
- Smoky-brown Woodpecker
- Arizona Woodpecker
- Strickland's Woodpecker
- Hairy Woodpecker
- White-headed Woodpecker
Taxonomy
Leuconotopicus is a genus in the Family Picidae, so far only accepted by Gill and Donsker. These species are now included in the genus Dryobates
