Identification
13-15 cm
- Dull green iridescent upperparts
- Dusky streaked white underparts
- Faint blue neck patch
- White tipped tail feathers
- Strongly decurved bill

Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia Colombia, Bolivia, northern Ecuador and Peru.

Habitat
Undergrowth of humid forests and woods.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes nectar and small arthropods.
Breeding
The nest is attached to the underside of a leaf, a few metres above ground. The 2 white eggs are incubated by the female for 16-18 days; the young fledge 22-24 later.
