Identification

The smallest Empidonax flycatcher (11.5-13cm) with rich buff colored breast (most vivid Jul-Feb.), strong double wing bars, short flat bill.

Kingdom: Animalia -> Phylum: Chordata -> Class: Aves -> Order: Passeriformes -> Family: Tyrannidae -> Genus: Empidonax -> Species: E. fulvifrons

Distribution

Honduras to Western Mexico, extending northward in a band to barely enter extreme SE Arizona.
