Identification
20 cm.
- Buffy-brown
- Dark streaks
- Short, thick bill
Distribution
Patchily distributed in the Indian subcontinent: found in Nepal, Pakistan and India.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Tall grassland, reeds, riverine, swamps, thorny scrub or ricefields.
Behaviour
Vocalisation
Song: trew-treuw usually given in circular display flight.
