Distribution

South-east Asia: endemic to the Philippines.

Taxonomy

Subspecies[1]

There are 4 subspecies:

  • R. c. pinicola:
  • R. c. cyaniceps:
  • Philippines (Luzon and Catanduanes)
  • R. c. sauli:
  • Philippines (Tablas) - sometimes recognized as full species, Tablas Fantail
  • R. c. albiventris
  • Philippines (Guimaras, Masbate, Negros, Panay and Ticao) - sometimes recognized as full species, Visayan Fantail

Habitat

Understory of forests up to 2000m.
