Distribution
South-east Asia: endemic to the Philippines.
Taxonomy
Visayan Fantail and Tablas Fantail have formerly been included in this species.
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- R. c. pinicola:
- Philippines (highlands of northern Luzon)
- R. c. cyaniceps:
- Philippines (Luzon and Catanduanes)
Habitat
Understory of forests up to 2000m.
Behaviour
Diet
They feed in the understorey up to 15m. Their diet consists almost entirely of flying insects caught in short flights. They join in mixed species foraging flocks.
