Pakistan, India, north-eastern Myanmar, China and south-east Asia.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 4 subspecies^[1]:

• C. m. melaschistos:

• Northern Pakistan, Himalayas and north-eastern Indian subcontinent

• C. m. avensis:

• Western China to central and southern Myanmar, northern Thailand and northern Vietnam

• C. m. intermedia:

• Central and southern China and Taiwan

• C. m. saturata:

• Northern Vietnam and Hainan

Habitat

Open forest and groves.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes invertebrates.
