Identification

Size: 12-15 cm, wing 7.3 cm, weight 15.9g

Location: Puerto Bertrand, XI Region, Patagonia, Chile

Distribution

South America in Chile, South Argentina and the Falklands.

Breeding

Early Sep-Dec in the Falklands, nest is a neat cup of fine grass, lined with hair, wool or root fibres,

in  fork of a large bush up to 1.8 m above ground or in mature Tussac grass. Lays 3-5 pinkish-white eggs marked with red-brown spots.
