Peucaea humeralis

Aimophila humeralis

Identification

15–15·5 cm (5¾-6 in)

  • Blackish head
  • White loral spot and moustachial stripe
  • White throat
  • Black malar stripe

Distribution

central America: found in south-western Mexico (Jalisco to w Oaxaca).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.

Was formerly placed in genus Aimophila.

Habitat

Arid highlands, dry shrubland and high-altitude shrubland.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet is known to include insects but there is little information available.
