Chrysothlypis chrysomelas

Identification

12 cm (4¾ in)
Male

  • Bright yellow head, rump and underparts
  • Black back, wings and tail
  • White wing linings

Female

  • Olive upperparts
  • Yellow underparts
  • White on the belly
  • White tufts at the sides of the breast

Immatures similar to the female, yellower below, particularly on the belly.

Distribution

South America: found in Costa Rica and Panama.
