Central America: found in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua,

Taxonomy

This species is sometimes placed in genus Agyrtria.

Subspecies^[1]

Two subspecies are recognized:

• A. c. cyanocephala:

• South-eastern Mexico to north-central Nicaragua

• A. c. chlorostephana:

• Mosquito coast of eastern Honduras and north-eastern Nicaragua

Habitat

Moist montanes, oak-pine woodlands and gardens.
