Percnostola arenarum

Identification

10 cm
Male

  • Dark grey
  • Black throat
  • Black wing coverts fringed with white

Female

  • Dark grey upperparts
  • Black wing coverts fringed reddish-brown
  • Underparts reddish-brown and white

Distribution

South America: found only in North-eastern Peru north of River Marañón (R. Morona to R. Nanay drainage)

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species described in 2002.

Habitat

Dry forests.
