- Collocalia sumbawae
Identification
8-9 cm.
- mantle and wings dark with blue-green gloss
- throat medium dusky grey
- underparts from chest to undertail coverts white
- tail black with white spots (often not visible)
Distribution
Western Lesser Sundas, Indonesia.
Taxonomy
Formerly included in Glossy Swiftlet. Reference [2] notes that the two subspecies are deeply divergent and suggests elevation of sumbae as "Sumba Swiftlet".
Subspecies
Clements recognises the following subspecies:
- C. s. sumbawae: Western Lesser Sundas (Sumbawa; population on Flores and Besar possibly also this subspecies)
- C. s. sumbae: Western Lesser Sundas (Sumba)
