Phylloscartes difficilis

Identification

Green upperside, grey underside and side of head, white spectacles over black lore, no wing bars but olive edging on wing feathers.

Distribution

Endemic to southeast Brazil.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.

Habitat

Scrub and understory of higher elevation forest within range.

Behaviour

Always quite low over ground, to 10-15 feet, and rarely with mixed species flocks. Tends to hold tail bent upwards and wings lowered while shaking these.

Like all tyrannulets likes insects and other arthropods.
