Phylloscartes beckeri

Identification

12 cm

  • Olive-green upperparts
  • Faint grey in centre of crown
  • Narrow, buff eye-ring and supraloral stripe
  • Short, creamy postocular eyebrow
  • Whitish-yellow throat and breast
  • Pale yellow centre of belly with olive sides
  • Two yellowish wing-bars
  • Greenish fringes to flight feathers

Distribution

South America: Restricted to the North East of Brazil in the state of Bahia. A good place to look for this unobtrusive species is in the remaining forest at Boa Nova.

Moist montanes.
