Identification

4 to 4.5 inches in length. Curved black bill , yellow forehead and chin, white eye-rings, olive green back, yellow underside of tail, throat, breast and belly, black legs and feet.

Distribution

Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Burma and N Vietnam. Introduced in Hawaii and the most numerous bird in the main Hawaiian islands.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Introduced to Hawaii in 1927, this beautiful geen bird can be found all over the Hawaiian islands, from the wettest forest to the driest deserts.

Behaviour

Duet

Diet includes nectar, fruit and insects.

Breeding

Breeding season is from February to December.
