Identification

13 cm
More sparkling green than all confusing species.

Distribution

South America: found in the Andes of western Colombia and western Ecuador.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.

This species forms a superspecies with (is very closely related to) Orange-eared Tanager.

Habitat

Cloud forest.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet includes insects and fruit.
